Carpathian Plc, formerly Dawnay, Day Carpathian PLC, is a property investment company. The Company was established for the purpose of investing in the retail property market in Central and Eastern Europe, with a primary focus on shopping centres, supermarkets and retail warehousing in several target countries in Central and Eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and the Baltics.
It has a diversified portfolio of 55 property assets across seven countries in Central and Eastern Europe. During the year ended December 31, 2007, the Company completed a total of eight acquisitions, comprising three retail property portfolios and five retail development sites. In July 2008, the Company announced the formation of a management company, Carpathian Asset Management Limited, in which it will own a 50% interest. In December 2008, the Company announced the sale of Varyada Shopping Centre.
